Thermocouples

Thermocouples in the boiler are used to ignite burners and monitor the presence of flame. Furthermore, they allow the gas valves to open the main valve only when the pilot burner is burning. If the thermocouple malfunctions, the gas valve will not open and the boiler will not ignite the burner.
